What exactly does a celebrant do?
Wedding celebrants do more than just officiate the ceremony. They meet couples beforehand. This helps to plan and personalise the ceremony with meaningful scripts, readings, poems, and other suggestions. These elements make the ceremony unforgettable and uniquely yours.
What is the difference between a Celebrant and a Registrar?
A Registrar conducts legally binding ceremonies with limited personalisation, usually lasting around 15 minutes, at licensed venues. I am an Independent Celebrant. I offer fully personalised ceremonies anywhere you desire – whether it is a beach, forest, or your own garden. Celebrant ceremonies aren’t legally binding in England. However, many couples handle the legalities adeptly with a Registrar. This ensures they enjoy a truly unique and meaningful celebration crafted just for them.
Do you cater for interfaith weddings?
As an Independent Celebrant, I specialise in creating ceremonies that embrace diversity and honour various cultural traditions and faiths. I’ll work closely with you to design a unique and meaningful fusion. This fusion will celebrate your heritage. It will guarantee both traditions are beautifully represented in your ceremony.
Are you legally allowed to marry us?
As an Independent Celebrant in England, I can create a personalised wedding or civil partnership ceremony. Still, I cannot handle the legal aspects of the marriage or civil partnership. You need to complete the legal formalities with a Registrar either before or after your celebrant-led ceremony. This ensures you have a legally binding marriage along with a unique ceremony that tells your love story.
We want a ceremony filled with joy and laughter – are there any restrictions?
NEVER! I’m all about celebrating your love in a way that feels true to who you are. You envision a light-hearted and fun ceremony. You want a deeply emotional exchange of vows. You even want a blend of both. There are no restrictions. Your ceremony should showcase your personalities and your love, and I’m here to make that happen!
Can we have a completely unique ceremony?
Sure thing! There are no copy and paste scripts here, just pure creativity—no rules, no restrictions, and definitely no boring stuff allowed! You dream of a classic touch. Maybe you’re looking for something that makes people giggle. Or you want a wild theme that even your grandma would raise an eyebrow at. I’ll create a ceremony that’s 100% you. It will be crafted from scratch and loaded with your one-of-a-kind story.
Where can we hold our ceremony?
Anywhere! It will be an intimate gathering in your most meaningful spot. It’s a Forest, Beach, or Mountain top! I will be there to host your special ceremony. There are no restrictions.
Can we include our own vows?
Absolutely. I would always encourage creativity and ownership of your vows and promises. If this is something you had considered, I can help you to draft these and make sure they feature as a highlight in your personalised script.
Do you include religious or spiritual elements?
It’s up to you – these can be included from any culture and tradition. I can craft the rituals, blessings or prayers which you want as part of your special day. Or if desired – absolutely non of these, if that’s not your thing!
Do you do destination ceremonies?
Yes! I absolutely love to travel and can’t wait to visit you! There are a few extra costs for overseas weddings. These cover my travel and accommodation. I’m thrilled to make it happen! I take on a small number of overseas weddings each year to guarantee we have an amazing experience together!
Do you do elopements?
Yes, I can help you make this happen. With a shorter turnaround, you’ll have total freedom to book me up to two weeks in advance. Choose a destination that holds lots of fond memories. Opt for a picturesque beach or a charming countryside venue. Let the scenery reflect your love story. Here, you can go with just your celebrant and a photographer. Capture those special moments of the day and make sure that every detail is immortalised in beautiful photographs. As you stand in this meaningful location, you are surrounded by nature or a captivating backdrop. You can exchange your vows and promises and articulate your love in the most sincere way. It’s your special day. It is a heartfelt celebration of your commitment to one another. It’s just the way you want.

How long does a ceremony last?
Usually around 30 minutes up to an hour, packed full of the content you’ve chosen to include.
How far in advance should we book you?
As soon as possible! Popular dates get snapped up quickly, especially in wedding season. I only do one ceremony a day and take bookings on a first come, first served basis. But even if it’s short notice, reach out – you never know!
